We make an example of one of Indonesian public figure, Anies Baswedan. Let's take a look at his personal journey from bachelor degree to Ph,D and how he end up in current Indonesian political race. His personal background has proved that his purpose in public policy in which has planned in undergraduate.

Also we can learn from his intention to pursue courses that align with his personal aspiration. How his personal motivation is linked to his chosen courses from Master to PhD. Moreover, his thesis also directed into his vision in current Anis which is to be Indonesia's presidential candidate. His intention to use knowledge for good/personal from his journey.

We can make conclusions that we plan what Anis did in the past as we plan for our future. You can use this with other figures that from your personal judgment is success.


Anies Baswedan is an Indonesian politician and educator. He was born on May 7, 1969, in Kuningan, West Java, Indonesia. Anies Baswedan has been active in various fields, primarily in education and politics.

Anies Baswedan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Gadjah Mada University and a Master's degree in international security and economic policy from the University of Maryland, College Park, in the United States. He later earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University.

Anies Baswedan served as the Minister of Education and Culture in Indonesia from 2014 to 2016, during the administration of President Joko Widodo. He implemented various educational reforms and initiatives during his tenure, focusing on improving the quality of education in Indonesia.

In politics, Anies Baswedan gained significant attention when he ran for Governor of Jakarta in 2017. He won the gubernatorial election, defeating the incumbent Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, commonly known as Ahok. His victory marked a significant shift in Indonesian politics and was seen as a reflection of rising identity politics in the country.
